Ordering FAQs

How do I order your products?

You first need to create an online account to place an order. All orders are done through our online store. Choose your pickup location and note the delivery time and day for your location. Please read about your pickup location on our website for information. Any special instructions for your pickup location will be relayed to you at checkout or by email. To finalize your order you must click the green "place your order" button at checkout. You will receive an order confirmation email at the address provided.

Why does it say that the price is an ESTIMATE ONLY on my order?

Most meat items are charged by weight. We have entered an average weight to estimate your total, but the final price will be determined after your order is packed and the correct weights have been entered.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards as payment. 

Can I pay with cash or check for my order?

We only allow cash or check payments at our Yorkshire Farm Store, Troy and Dayton Farmhouse (in store) locations. All other order payments must be made by debit/credit card. Our delivery drivers do not take payments at delivery.

When will my credit card be charged?

We do not charge your credit card until the day your order is packed. We pack orders for Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus one day before delivery and Minster on delivery day. You will receive an emailed receipt when your order is packed and your credit card is charged. (Packing day subject to change if it falls on 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. It will then be one-two days prior to the holiday.)

What happens to my order if my credit card is declined?

You will receive an email if your credit card payment is declined. You have until 4:30pm the day before delivery to update your credit card information in your account so we can charge your card. Please email or call us when you have updated your payment information. If we do not receive an email or call before 4:30pm we will not be able to deliver your order to the pickup location. All orders to pickup locations (other than Farm Store, Troy, Dayton Farmhouse - in store) must be paid by credit card.

When are the order deadlines?

Most order deadlines are midnight two days before delivery. For example, if your delivery date is on Saturday, then the order deadline is Thursday at midnight.  

The Farm Store has a TBA deadline as pickup can be anytime during store hours. We ask that our customers leave a message in the customer's notes section of their order telling us when they will pickup at this location. 

Short stock items

Please understand that E.A.T. Food for Life Farm is a small farm, not a large warehouse. If an item becomes unavailable your final total as well as any applicable delivery fees will be reduced.

Why do I have to purchase a herd share if I want raw dairy? 

It is illegal in the state of Ohio to sell raw dairy. However, raw dairy can be obtained through a herd share. A person may purchase a share in a dairy cow herd and then pay boarding fees for their cow when they pick up dairy products. Our boarding fees are reflected in the amounts shown for individual dairy units.
